The best

I am currently in the middle of the COBDR ride, and we have hit temps as low as 39, high as 84, rain and sleet and everything in between. I purchased the Basilisk jacket and pants for this trip, and this is hands down the best gear I have ever worn. The only wish is that I could have something to attach the jacket collar to the jacket when you don’t zip it all the way. Works great with all my under gear and crash protection. I am someone that works in the industry, and could have picked any number of other gear to wear, and I have tried them all. Two thumbs up to a great product, just wish I would have bought the hat too. In the end buy what you like and can afford, but like they say, buy once cry once. And if you end up with something this good the pain fades quickly.

Bomber Jacket, get one if you can afford it.

For starters, the Basilisk Jacket is worth the price. This jacket is bomb-proof. If you have ever been caught by surprise in a pounding rain storm at 48 degrees, and you had subpar outer gear, then you may want the Basilisk. It works great if you are into layering and can be worn in most situations, minus very hot days. I'm 5-8, 165, 38.5 inch chest, 32 inch waist, athletic build and the Small fits perfectly, hope that helps for sizing.

Great Jacket

The jacket is great, however I wish MM would make their trousers also in 3xl 😢

Fantastic jacket

Jacket is perfectly built, used materials feel (and really are) premium quality. Zippers are quite hard to open/close but are waterproof so it is not a downside. Collar is not one of the most comfortable parts of the jacket but I got used to it and it feels fine now. Venting is stellar. Size L fits perfectly with my Knox Urbane Pro Mk. III (also L) protection layer and still leaves enough space for warm mid layer - I am 187cm/87kg. Definitely worth the money.

The Basilisk Jacket gets further refinements as it takes on a true 2.0 redesign as our waterproof/breathable enduro-touring kit for long-distance, multi-day trips through primarily off-road terrain. It combines high-performance materials with clean lines and minimalist design. With an articulated fit for freedom of motion and easy layering, the Basilisk is designed to work with separate armor systems for superior protection and better versatility. It packs smaller than a traditional ADV jacket for stashing on your bike when things get hot.

The Basilisk is incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. Heat and water vapor move directly through the air permeable membrane, allowing your body to breathe freely and stay comfortable. With a 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), with an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR to keep you dry in wet conditions. It's the only air permeable riding jacket we have come across and it has the highest waterproof ratings we've ever seen. To improve the Basilisk 2.0’s ability to shed water, we added storm flaps to all external zippers. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders, back, and elbows, we added Super Fabric® ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable overlay for added strength. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won't clog with dust and grime, and they're easy to operate one-handed with gloves. There are two external hand pockets and two chest pockets. (One external, one internal), with six substantial vents placed strategically for maximum airflow. On the inside we eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders and elbows, laminated patches protect the tricot lining.

The Basilisk jacket is designed to work with separate body armor for extended enduro-touring trips. This not only offers better protection but also makes it a more versatile jacket across the wide range of conditions you experience on extended trips. If you've never used separate body armor, here are the reasons we love it:

-  Temperature Management: Riding hard in a hot climate with separate armor, you can remove your jacket without losing your protection. On a hot day riding offroad in the desert, taking your jacket off is a game-changer. This is particularly valuable when moving slower through challenging terrain where air flow is limited.

-  Impact Protection: Separate armor has better coverage, and holds the pads closer to your body, so they're exactly where they need to be in a crash. Armor pads suspended loosely in the hanging liner of a motorcycle jacket are insufficient for riding off-road where crashes are more common.

The jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features, is best. That's the Basilisk. It's light, nimble, waterproof and breathable, with only the pockets and vents you need and nothing else.
